  • Child Protection Week: Saturday 3 June

Child Welfare, Kleinmond, organised a march along the main road of the town on Saturday, 3 June to draw attention to Child Protection Week.

All the preschools in Kleinmond participated and, of course, Pikkewyntjies too as the school is affiliated to Child Welfare. As it was held on a Saturday, some of the ex Pikkewyntjies who are now at school could join the little ones. It was good to have them there.

As you see from the photos, the Pikkewyntjies chose green as their theme colour and Zaan, our principal, Sandra, chairman of our Board, Sandy, Assistant teacher and Louise, housekeeper and cook supported the children.

Looking at our little children, it is inconceivable how people in the world can even think of hurting them. Nevertheless there is a great need to try to involve society at large to help protect them and the march was organised by Child Welfare to make the point.
