- The Pikkewyntjies Second Hand Shop
The Pikkewyntjies Second Hand Shop is extremely important to the school because the proceeds pay the salaries of two members of staff.
It’s a little gem of a shop because of the lady who heads it up and the team of women who serve behind the counter. Naturally they are all volunteers giving their time and talents so every cent ultimately benefits the children.
Recently they were on the job pretty much all day because they moved premises. The shop was previously at the end of a passage, now it is nearer the hub of things and it is also lighter and brighter.
The photos were taken on opening day.
PS Anyone wanting to pay the shop a visit on their way to the beach you can access it one of two ways -
Either turn off Clarence to park at the upper end of The Village Centre, follow the passage down the steps past the post office and turn right - you’ll see the shop.
Or turn right into Porter Drive past Jack’s Cafe, follow the road to the lower parking lot at The Village Centre, walk into the Centre and stay left - you’ll come to the shop
