- PK Winter Warmth
A number of our children do not live in Mooi Uitsig but at some distance from the school in Hanglkip, Pringle Bay and Rooi Els. In the winter it is still dark when Juffrou Zaan arrives with the bus and she leaves the headlights on to guide them down the path from their homes.
Sometimes our little people are not adequately dressed to keep out the cold and the school is very grateful for donations of second-hand clothing. The only ones more grateful are the children themselves with their legs in warm pants and vests under their clothes.

For years, there has been a donor who has gathered her group of knitters, months before the first winter rain falls to prepare a winter gift for each of the Pikke. The boys get a brand new beanie each - and my how nice it is to find out the difference a beanie makes on a wintry, windswept playground and the girls have all the pleasure of pretty ponchos to wear over drab winter wear.
Thank you, from our hearts to Hester and the knitting group for your care and time and thoughtfulness to bring comfort and joy to our little people, again, this winter.
