- The Come Read With Us programme
The Come Read With Us programme, led by our wonderful volunteer, Linda Briers, forms part of our Yearly Challenge. Each year the children’s reading books are purchased through this initiative.
Linda generously gives her time, expertise and love every afternoon to help our little ones discover the joy of reading. Her patience, encouragement and dedication make a world of difference - one sound, one word and one story at a time.

Twelve years ago these elegant young ladies and dapper gentlemen were graduating from Pikkewyntjies. They were leaving the teachers who had nurtured them - and Tannie Zaan who had set such high standards for them and taught them that it’s not your circumstances which determine the life you will lead, but your own self and your own dreams and hard work.

Thanks to the generous support of the Challenge Fundraiser the school was able to replace the yellow chairs and tables that had been used by all the children who have passed through the school in the last eighteen years. They had done remarkably well but were past their sell-by date, the legs not quite straight, the table tops marked, the chairs well-worn.
