- PROMISE
Every Morning Zaan gets up very early to fetch the Pikkewyntjies who live in Hangklip and Pringle Bay. In the winter it is still dark and often raining and blowing a gale but they need to join their school mates before the day starts to enjoy a very welcome breakfast.
There are footpaths which the children take to reach the road where Zaan waits with the headlights burning to guide them. They walk close together so no one gets left behind and are very glad to jump into the warmth of the bus and hear Zaan’s warm greeting.
There is one little girl though who has an easy walk to the bus, actually she doesn’t walk at all and she has the reassuring company of an adult too on the way.. Whatever the weather, her Dad pushes her along the footpath in a little wagon to meet the bus.
Not many of our children’s Dads are actively involved in their children’s lives or take time to support them. It’s heartwarming to see this Dad with his small daughter every morning, making sure she gets to the bus safely and isn’t frightened by the dark and wind.
She’s a fortunate little girl.
