- Kyk hoe lyk hulle nou
Twelve years ago these elegant young ladies and dapper gentlemen were graduating from Pikkewyntjies. They were leaving the teachers who had nurtured them - and Tannie Zaan who had set such high standards for them and taught them that it’s not your circumstances which determine the life you will lead, but your own self and your own dreams and hard work.
They were leaving the security of the small school they knew so well and the friendship of their classmates for a new school and people they didn’t yet know and more difficult work. Were they afraid? No, because they had been well prepared for what lay ahead. Actually they were looking forward to their new adventure.
Having successfully completed primary school, all four of them moved to Hawston High to complete their schooling.
Just as when we’re pre-schoolers, there has to be a function to bid farewell when we are in our final school year. No school concert this time and no cupcakes but a Matric Farewell and everyone dressed to the nines.

The fun of the Farewell Party over, not just our matrics, but the matrics all over the country, are writing their final exams. How well they do will affect their plans for their future. With Zaan’s wisdom in their ears, these four have made their plans.
Sue Andrea, in the black dress, is ambitious to be a cook and has a place at a restaurant for 2026.
Michelle who is wearing purple is going to train as a teacher and has already been accepted.
Junior who is wearing a bow tie also has a job for a year while he decides what he wants to do.
Keanan, standing beside the car, has been accepted to study office management next year.
They are a sample of the ex-Pikkewyntjie, 2025 matriculants and everyone associated with the school is so glad and so proud of them.
May they go from strength to strength.
