FIRST DAY OF 2017 SCHOOL YEAR & PREVIOUS PIKKEWYNTJIES/PENGUIN KIDZ WAITING FOR ME (Some of them are already in Gr. 7)

EXHAUSTED AFTER THE FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL .... FORTUNATELY, THE TEACHER GAVE EACH KID A SOFT TOY TO COMFORT THEM.

OUTING TO THE PENGUIN COLONY STONY POINT

Just before the official opening of the 2017 school year, it was decided to take the 4-6 yr.old kidz on an educational outing. Although they live in either Betty’s Bay or Pringle, believe it or not, for some of the kids it was the first time they saw the penguins at Stony Point. They thoroughly enjoyed the walk, the talk & a picnic on the beach. The Edge restaurant provided a cold drink for each child.

The above results prove the importance of ECD - Early Child Education.

Let me introduce you to the 4-6 year old kids in my class.

CHALLENGE RECEIVED END OF JAN.

We need to continue to respond positively and actively to community challenges. We need to support the children even more, so that they do not become victims of the cycles of poverty that many of them come from.

Thus, I am writing to challenge the Roo Els, Pringle and Betty’s Bay and all the other areas as well as our overseas donors to join us again in raising even more money for Pikkewyntjies in 2017:

We are willing to match any contribution from other families to the maximum R35,000 (combined total).

If your generosity pushes us to the max, we will raise a total of R70,000 for the school.

The money will be used to expand the buildings and infrastructure needed to teach the children, as well as allow for Zaan and the team to build systems so that they are compliant with the newer regulations associated with such schools, thereby making the school more sustainable. Thus for every Rand you donate our Challenger will give a Rand!
